dc.description | The limited understanding of electronic records management system (ERMS) seems to contribute to organizations resisting the adoption of ERMS rather than organizations do not know the appropriate strategies to take up the challenge. Information generated from an effective and efficient Electronic Records Management (ERM) using system helps the organisations to plan and make well informed decisions, thus improving their competencies. Despite ERMS is essential for supporting decision making process, many organizations are not implementing the endeavor, and some are implementation without any framework thus, resulted in inappropriate execution. The aim of this study is to propose a framework for the adoption of ERMS to support the decision making process in Higher Professional Education (HPE) institutions using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), the Information System Success Theory by DeLone and McLean, and the Theory of Technology, Organization and Environment (TOE). Mixed methods were used to collect quantitative and qualitative data. The collected data was analysed using SPSS 21. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) and AMOS v21 software were used to propose the framework. The proposed framework is verified by five experts by means of interview. Quantitative data reveals that all the fit indices satisfy the recommended range of values which assumed the developed framework is acceptable. The results revealed that the framework fitness is appropriate and indicate the stability of the theory used in building the framework. The study revealed that technology (β=0.23), organization (β=0.41) and system characteristics (β =0.20) which are second order factors were significant and positively influence the adoption of ERMS. The study also showed that ERMS was found to be important and has significant relation with decision making process in HPE institutions (β=0.72). In addition, the qualitative results confirmed the findings obtained from theoretical study and contributed to enriching the understanding of the adoption of ERMS in HPE. This study could help shape the direction of both theoretical and empirical studies on ERMS, specifically on adoption in order to supporting decision making process.,Certification of Master's/Docttoral Thesis" is not available | |
