dc.description | Smart space is a physical environment in which networked electronic devices autonomously gather information about the environment. In smart spaces, crisis management is a challenging problem for inhabitant safety and security. In some critical events, standalone management system is not enough efficient for facing the problem. Based on literature reviews, it is found that interaction and correlations between synergetic smart environments in case of emergency, is not well defined nor well understood. The research aimed to extend and to empower advantages of smart spaces by providing a collaborative space between commonwealth smart parties. One of the study contributions is to design a resource-based middleware that is oriented to achieve more interaction among smart spaces. The REST design principles was followed to reduce the coupling between smart parties. Second contribution is to develop a real-time and rule-based crisis detector layer that provides more safety for associative smart space's users. Employing situation awareness and ECA reasoning mechanism, Coordinator System is able to find the best party to help in uncontrollable crisis. In order to validate the designed system and framework, a simulator has been implemented. The simulator employed JEE to build RESTful web server and clients, and also, utilized Drools platform to identify complex patterns, event correlation and relationships between events to detect crisis. Some evaluation tests like Pollution test, Latency test and Performance test have been done. The results of evaluation and qualification indicate framework's features such low system response time, scalability, extendibility and dynamic adaptation. Furthermore, the evaluation results also indicate the applicability and ability of the developed Coordination System to cope with out of control crises among a Synergetic Smart Space.,Certification of Master's/Doctoral Thesis" is not available | - |
