Description: | Business environment becomes complicated, along with the rapid development of economic globalization and information technology. Organizations have to understand business intelligence system by viewing and taking into consideration the information system success factors and users engagement. Many organizations implemented Business Intelligence Systems (BIS) without considering the quality of the information system success factors (ISSF). Furthermore, users are not engaged in the system development and the implementation stage for both the psychological (user involvement) and behavioral (user participation) aspects. This has led to the BIS failure. The objectives of this study are to examine the relationship between user engagement and information system success factor; to investigate the BIS effectiveness based on the relationship between user engagement and information system success factor; and to propose a new BIS framework for banking institutions in Jordan. This study uses a survey method with a quantitative approach employing the questionnaire as the technique for data collection. A total of 200 questionnaires were distributed to the banks' employees in three managerial levels (operational, tactical and strategic) of commercial banks in Jordan. Out of the 200 distributed questionnaires, 106 were returned making the response rate of 53%. The data was analyzed using SPSS 19. The statistical techniques used are factor analysis, correlation and multiple regressions. The result shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between user engagement and information system success factor. The analysis also reveals that the interaction between user engagement and information system success factor increases the BIS effectiveness. This indicates that user's engagement in BIS development is crucial to ensure the optimum usage of the system. This will enable organizations to make the right and well-informed decision making at the right time eventhough organizations are experiencing pressure. Thus, organizations would be able to run their business smoothly and effectively, and connected with internal and external environment.,Ph.D |
