Geometric Function Theory is mainly concerned with the study of geometric properties of analytic functions. Analytic functions map a certain domain in z-plane to another domain in w-plane. To study the geometric properties of the image domain in w-plane is the centre of attention in Geometric Function Theory. The main objective of this thesis is to study the geometric properties of certain classes of analytic functions. We start with the introduction to Geometric Function Theory and then by giving a comprehensive literature review of some well known operators. Certain classes of multivalent meromorphic functions which map the open unit disc onto certain domains bounded by conic curves in w-plane are studied. Such functions are defined using subordination. It is found that such functions exhibit certain geometric characteristic properties, for example closure properties under certain integral operators and inclusion properties with the coefficient bounds, which have been thoroughly studied in this thesis. We have also presented some general results on coefficient inequalities of p-valent meromorphic functions. Certain Janowski type analytic functions related to k-symmetric points are also defined and their geometric properties studied. We have also introduced a class of functions associated with S˘al˘agean operator and discussed its various geometric aspects. Certain classes of starlike and convex meromorphic functions using membership property for the class of analytic functions with real part greater than with their inclusion, closure and radius properties discussed. We also defined a class of p-valent analytic functions using subordination. Certain analytic properties and application of this class to a linear operator have also been discussed.,Ph.D.
