dc.descriptionPemencilan sebatian kimia ke atas Goniothalamus ridleyi (daun, batang, ranting, akar dan buah) dan Cratoxylum arborescens (ranting, kulit dalam, kulit luar, daun dan akar) yang dikutip di Post Brooke, Gua Musang, Kelantan telah dijalankan. Semua bahagian G. ridleyi dan C. arborescens telah dianalisis secara kualitatif bagi menentukan sifatnya sebagai antioksidan. Bahagian kulit batang dan buah menunjukkan peratus perencatan paling tinggi, lebih dari 90% masing-masing pada 90.89% dan 93.70%. Bahagian lain hanya menunjukkan peratus antara 41.52 -54.67%. Semua ekstrak C. arborescens menunjukkan peratus perencatan DPPH lebih dari 90% (90.72% - 94.12%) kecuali kulit luar (86.93%). Setiap bahagian pokok G. ridleyi dilakukan pengekstrakan minyak pati. Minyak pati yang diekstrak menerusi penyulingan hidro dilarutkan dengan pelarut heksana terus dianalisis dengan kaedah KGSJ. Daripada spektroskopi yang dilaksanakan, dikenal pasti peratusan yang paling tinggi adalah sebatian linalool (15.2%) dalam kulit batang segar, β-eudesmol (27.1%) dalam batang segar sementara sebatian -kubebena (20.7%) dalam buah segar. Peratusan yang tinggi bagi minyak pati kulit batang kering ialah linalool (15.8%) sementara sebatian β-eudesmol (27.8%) menunjukkan peratusan tertinggi dalam batang kering. Minyak pati bagi buah kering menunjukkan peratusan yang tinggi bagi sebatian β-kubebena (17.2%). Lima sebatian stiril lakton, iaitu goniothalamin (1), 5-asetoksigoniothalamin (3), 5-asetoksiisogoniothalamin oksida (4), 5-hidroksigoniothalamin (8) dan dehidrogoniothalamin (9) telah dapat dipencilkan dari bahagian pokok G. ridleyi bersama dengan campuran sebatian stigmasterol (207) dan β-sitosterol (89). Hanya satu sebatian tulen 5-asetoksiisogoniothalamin oksida (0.0350%) telah dipencilkan daripada bahagian kulit batang. Sementara tiga sebatian, iaitu goniothalamin (0.1441%), 5-asetoksiisogoniothalamin oksida (0.0059%) dan 0.0456% campuran stigmasterol dan β-sitosterol telah dipencilkan daripada bahagian buah. Tiga terbitan goniothalamin, iaitu sebatian 5-asetoksigoniothalamin (0.0709%), 5-hidroksigoniothalamin (0.0123%), dehidrogoniothalamin (0.0177%) bersama campuran stigmasterol dan β-sitosterol (0.0036%) telah dipencilkan daripada bahagian akar. Dua sebatian tulen, 5-asetoksigoniothalamin (0.0168%) dan dehidrogoniothalamin (0.0096%) telah dipencilkan daripada bahagian batang, manakala 5-asetoksigoniothalamin (0.0046%) dan 0.0089% campuran stigmasterol dan β-sitosterol telah dipencilkan daripada bahagian ranting. Sementara hanya campuran sebatian stigmasterol dan β-sitosterol telah dipencilkan daripada daun (0.0139%). Lima sebatian telah dapat dipencilkan daripada bahagian pokok C. arborescens iaitu prunifloron H (112), cochinchinon C (91), makluraxanton (146), astilbin (132) dan vismiakuinon (208). Tiga sebatian xanton, iaitu prunifloron H (0.0147%), cochinchinon C (0.0422%) dan makluraxanton (0.0147%) telah dapat dipencilkan dari fraksi heksana kulit batang, satu sebatian flavonoid, astilbin (0.0051%) dipencilkan dari fraksi metanol daun manakala satu sebatian antrakuinon, vismiakuinon (0.0012%) dipencilkan dari fraksi metanol akar. Spektroskopi RMN dua dimensi (COSY, HMBC dan HSQC) digunakan dalam penentuan struktur sebatiansebatian yang dipencilkan kecuali sebatian tulen prunifloron H, cochinchinon C dan makluraxanton.,Separation of chemical compounds was carried out on Goniothalamus ridleyi (the leaves, stem bark, stem, twig, roots and fruits) and Cratoxylum arborescens (the stem bark inner and outer, leaves, twig and roots) collected at Post Brooke, Gua Musang, Kelantan. The investigation was conducted on all parts of G. ridleyi and C. arborescens for antioxidant activity. Parts of stem bark and fruit showed high % inhibitory more than 90% at 90.89% and 93.70% respectively. The other parts were only showed between 41.52 - 54.67%. All extracts of C. arborescens showed high % inhibitory more than 90% (90.72 - 94.12%) except outer stem bark (86.93%). Each parts of G. ridleyi have been extracted using conventional distillation to get essential oil. The essential oil extracted have been analyzed using GC-MS. From the spectroscopy data, the highest percentage of compounds was identified as linalool (15.2%) in fresh stem bark, β-eudesmol (27.1%) in fresh stem while compound -cubebene (20.7%) in fresh fruit. The highest percentage of essential oil of dried stem bark is linalool (15.8%) while compound β-eudesmol (27.8%) was high in dried stem. Essential oil of dried fruit showed high percentage of compound β-cubebene (17.2%). Five compounds of styryl lactone, i.e. goniothalamin (1), 5-acetoxyigoniothalamin (3), 5-acetoxyiisogoniothalamin oxide (4), 5-hydroxygoniothalamin (8) and dehydrogoniothalamin (9) have been isolated from different parts of G. ridleyi with a mixture of compound stigmasterol (207) and β-sitosterol (89). One purified compound 5-acetoxyisogoniothalamin oxide (0.0350%) has been isolated from stem bark. While three compounds, i.e. goniothalamin (0.1441%), 5-acetoxyisogoniothalamin oxide (0.0059%) and 0.0456% of a mixture of stigmasterol and β-sitosterol have been isolated from fruit. Three derivatives of goniothalamin, i.e. compound 5-acetoxygoniothalamin (0.0709%), 5-hydroxygoniothalamin (0.0123%), dehydrogoniothalamin (0.0177%), with a mixture of stigmasterol and β-sitosterol (0.0036%) have been isolated from the root. Two purified compounds, 5-acetoxygoniothalamin (0.0168%) and dehydrogoniothalamin (0.0096%) have been isolated from stem, while 5-acetoxygoniothalamin (0.0046%) and 0.0089% of a mixture of stigmasterol and β-sitosterol have been isolated from twig. Meanwhile, only a mixture of compound stigmasterol and β-sitosterol have been isolated from the leaves (0.0139%). Five compounds have been isolated from C. arborescens plant parts i.e. pruniflorone H (112), cochinchinon C (91), macluraxanthone (146), astilbin (132) and vismiaquinone (208). Three xanthone compounds, i.e. pruniflorone H (0.0147%), cochinchinone C (0.0422%) and macluraxanthone (0.0147%) have been separated from hexane fraction of stem bark, one flavonoid compound, astilbin (0.0051%) has been separated from methanol fraction of leaves while one anthraquinone, vismiaquinone (0.0012%) has been separated from methanol fraction of roots. Two dimensions of NMR spectroscopy (COSY, HMBC and HSQC) have been used in determination of structure of isolated compounds except purified compounds prunifloron H, cochinchinone C and macluraxanthone.,Ph.D.-
