Description:	Unlike, face-to-face classroom learning, online learning platform has opened up the possibilities for students to access the learning materials and interaction with the teacher and friends virtually at any time. This study is an offshoot of an Intensified Research in Priority Areas project conducted by UKM, where a set of modules for literature learning were produced by group of researchers and placed on an existing online platform called "The Learning Care Portal". The aim of the study is to explore how students react to the online learning facilities, which are the forum, lessons, and blog, that are customized to enhance their learning of literature via online. This mixed method study purposely selected 43 students from an English Literature course. A survey and semi-structured interview were conducted to elicit responses from the students regarding their learning process of literature via online. Findings indicate that, in general, that the majority of the students seemed to like the online learning activities provided in the Learning Care Portal for the literature course. Of the three learning facilities for online learning of literature, they enjoyed participating in the forum and making use of the lessons that offer class notes and quizzes. The study also found that the students need more learner training to acquire new study skill or new study culture in order to experience autonomy in learning. Although they could use the lessons according to the guideline prescribed by the teacher, many were uncertain and not confident to engage in a total autonomous learning. Besides technical challenges such as poor internet connection, they felt insecure if the teacher is inaccessible when they need their teacher to help them in their learning journey. The implications of study touched upon the pedagogical aspects of teaching, learners' learner training module, teacher's retooling, and administrator's role in ensuring the success of online learning of literature. A working framework for online learning of literature is proposed as a contribution of the study in the existing field.,Ph.D.
