Description: Interactive story book app is defined as the app which is used for practicing speech language and literacy skills for children. Language development is the process by which children come to understand and communicate language during early childhood. Delayed language development can have ripple effects on children’s social life and education. So language development is one of the most important issues in children development. In the past few years, different kinds of interactive story book apps have been developed by software programmer. Some apps enjoy a good sale and get great achievements. It has been proved that interactive story book app play an important role in children's language development. However, it is difficult to find a suitable app for children, especially some small languages, such as Bahasa Melayu. This study aims to develop a suitable interactive book app as a speech therapy aid for typically developing children aged from 4 to 6 years. In this research, we conducted two surveys among typically developing children aged from 4 to 6 years and their parents. The first survey was to get the requirement of the interactive book app. The questionnaire of requirement of interactive included the basic information about parents and children, requirement of content and requirement of function. The collected data was analyzed by using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). According to analysis result of the requirements of the interactive book app, based on speech therapy theory, Using Java language and android studio as development kit, the interactive book was developed. As the speech therapy aid, the interactive book app uses three kinds of strategies, including: Language intervention activities(Interact with child using pictures, books and sounds, Use repetition exercise, Use quiz), Articulation therapy(Sound pronunciation, Correct sounds and syllables in words and sentences) and Oral-motor therapy(Record pronunciation). Then we conducted another survey of evaluation on the interactive book app. The evaluation on the interactive book app mainly focused on content and usability evaluation. Based on the analysis result of evaluation, the respondents agreed the evaluation of content and usability on the interactive book app. With the help of the interactive book app, children can practice the speech language and literacy skills easily and correctly. After using the interactive book app, children can improve the language ability.
