Description: Recently there has been a lot of interest in the field of information hiding for text message in color image for security purpose and copyright protection. Steganography is one of the most well-known tasks to hide secret message in image, in such a way that the reality of data is covered. Most of the researcher focused on gray scale image to hide the information. However, the main problem of more text embedding in gray scale image will affect the quality of the image. The objective of this thesis is to create an effective software planning tools to measure the performance of different techniques in true color image to enhance the embedding time and capacity obtain. A significant review on edge detection techniques has been done in order to understand their characteristics and performance of hiding the text in the edge of a color image. This study focuses on the information hiding in true color image without affecting the quality of the image and the information is hidden at the edges. Comparative studies to apply different edge detection techniques to conceal data were carried out via (Lina 200x200) image with three different formats (JPEG, PENG and Tiff). The result shows that Canny technique was able to hide message acceptable embedding time and embedded capacity of the pixel compared with Roberts, Log, Sobel, Prewitt and Demirel Edge techniques by 1226, 560, 1016, 599, 591 and 500 respectively. It concludes that, each of these techniques has different individual attributes that are changed by a steganography algorithm in such a way that the modifications are not perceived under Lina image.,Master
