Description: Due to emerge of World Wide Web in any industries nowadays, the web based system and internet application become the main point to improve and support the people's tasks. Effectiveness and efficiency of a standard web application to provide information needed by the user and reliability of the system to interact with their user has been the main issues. System's response time also another issue that need to be considered in order to give quick result for the requested information in order to reduce user working time and enhanced the experience and comfort when using the web based system. Current technique that mostly applied by the system developer to solve those kind of problem is by using AJAX technique on web page. AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) is combination script technique to enable partial post back when updating the web page during client request the information to the web server. This can improve the system response time because only the necessary part of the web page will be updated instead of updating the whole page by the browser. Hence, this work focuses on developing e-Catalog system, which is simple AJAX web based catalog system to show the different in term of system response time between its similar traditional web page system and AJAX enabled web system. User will be able to input text query in order to retrieve information they wanted. This system equipped with text keyword search engine that apply Semantic Technology to filter related catalog information to be displayed on the search result’s page. Findings and results of this research have proven that AJAX enabled web page gave faster and significant response time advantages compare to the traditional or non AJAX enabled on the web page when user browse or search for the catalog records.,Master/Sarjana
