Description: | Most of traditional user interface evaluations are conducted in usability laboratories, where a small number of selected users are directly observed by trained evaluators. Further, transporting users or developers to remote locations can be very costly. As the network itself and the remote work setting have become one of the most basic parts of usage patterns, evaluators often have limited access to representative users for usability evaluation in the laboratory and the users’ work context is difficult or impossible to reproduce in a laboratory setting. These limitations clearly indicated that the online interface evaluation is an excellent solution to solve the existing usability evaluation problems. To develop such a system, it is necessary to determine the major evaluation attributes in terms of educational courseware. Furthermore, an on-line system is required to be developed for collecting evaluation information from students according to those attributes. The main goal of this work is to design, develop and evaluate a cost-effective remote usability evaluation method for real-world applications used by real users doing real tasks in real work environments through synchronous approach. This study is using quantitative approach for data collection and data analysis. The result of this research will be analysis of questionnaires that is based on proposed evaluation criteria. The Expert evaluators assign weight to the questions and students evaluate the courseware based on weights which have been given by experts.
