Description: Islam has provided various mechanisms for the redistribution of wealth to ensure balanced economic development so that it can be enjoyed together by the community, especially through the practice of waqf. In recent years, various efforts have been made by organizations and researchers focusing on innovative methods to expand waqf towards achieving sustainable socio-economic growth. However, there is a lack of literature and academic discussion on the concept of waqf in addressing inequality although studies on awareness of the importance of wealth distribution practices through waqf have been conducted since the 1990s but are still unclear to Muslims and non -Muslims especially the general public. To address this problem, this study acts to review the existing literature on the concept of waqf, the importance of wealth redistribution, and policies in addressing the problem of inequality in Malaysia. A comprehensive search was conducted on relevant studies based on specific topics, and the identified studies were reviewed and synthesized according to a predetermined method i.e., the Systematic Review of Literature (SLR) approach. To achieve this objective, the researcher used a systematic survey process to complete this study by analyzing the reference articles of different waqf practices and identifying the causes of inequality. Based on the findings, this study concludes that the publication of literature on the concept of waqf and inequality has started 20 years ago but with a focus on the importance of waqf practice by bridging inequality gaps, knowing the meaning and way waqf distributed advantages influence how differences can be resolved strategically. Additional suggestions are highlighted to enable a more qualitative study to strengthen the current literature gap. The standard method of systematic survey can help direct and produce more advanced synthetic research in the meaning of waqf in potential funding and benefit distribution, while other search techniques involved are collection monitoring, reference search and field analysis. Therefore, there is a need to learn more about the profit impact of waqf distribution and accurate inequality analysis. The importance of this study is waqf as a method to address the problem of inequality in Malaysia and ensure that society can enjoy economic prosperity, as desired in the redistribution of wealth, and the need for successful multidimensional measurement strategies.,Certification of Masters/Doctoral Thesis" is not available
