In the present day, refugees are vulnerable people on earth and mostly they are children, women and men. The challenges are enormous considering the quest to finding solution to the crisis, their displaced status, the related health challenges and those returning back are in crisis. The objectives of the research is to examined the legal instrument for the protection of refugees under the international law thereby looking at the position of the United Nations Convention of 1951 in relation to the Status of Refugees and Its Protocol 1967, to analyses the protection received by the Iraqi refugees by the international community under the international law and also to look at the Iraqi legal framework on the protection of refugees as well as the UNHCR and other International Non-governmental Organization (INGOs).
