Description: Kajian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengkaji kesan penambahan pengisi grafin oksida (GO) ke dalam epoksi diubah suai. Pengubahsuaian nanokomposit dilakukan dengan dua kaedah iaitu penambahan cecair getah asli terepoksida (LENR) dan rawatan permukaan GO menggunakan agen pengkupelan silana. Nanokomposit epoksi dengan pelbagai kandungan pengisi iaitu 0.1, 0.3 dan 0.5%bt GO disediakan. Komposit epoksi dan LENR pula dihasilkan dengan peratusan 1%bt, 3%bt dan 5%bt LENR. Sampel dengan 3%bt LENR memberikan peratus peningkatan kekuatan lenturan dan modulus lenturan tertinggi masing-masing iaitu 46% dan 20% berbanding epoksi tulen. Pelbagai jenis sampel seperti epoksi tulen (E), epoksi berpengisi GO (E-GO), epoksi berpengisi GO diperkukuh LENR (E-GO-LENR) dan epoksi berpengisi GO terawat silana diperkukuh LENR (E-GOSilana-LENR) telah disediakan. Dalam kajian ini, kesemua sampel nanokomposit dilakukan ujian mekanik, morfologi dan terma. Analisis FTIR membuktikan terdapat kehadiran kumpulan berfungsi silana dalam GO. Sampel E-0.3%bt GOSilana-LENR memberikan nilai kekuatan lenturan dan modulus lenturan optimum iaitu 89.3 MPa dan 3600 MPa. Mikrograf SEM permukaan patahan bagi sampel epoksi berpengisi GO adalah lebih kasar berbanding epoksi tulen. Analisis terma menunjukkan penggunaan GO terawat silana meningkatkan rintangan terma sampel berbanding epoksi tulen.,This study was performed to investigate the effect of adding graphene oxide (GO) in the modified epoxy. Nanocomposites modification were carried out by two methods, i.e., addition of liquid epoxidized natural rubber (LENR) and GO surface treatment using silane coupling agent. Epoxy nanocomposites with various filler content of 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5% wt GO were prepared. Epoxy composite with LENR were produced with 1% wt, 3%wt and 5% wt of LENR. The sample with 3% wt of LENR gave the highest percentage of increament in flexural strength and flexural modulus which is 46% and 20% respectively compared to neat epoxy. Various types of sample which is neat epoxy (E), epoxy filled with GO (E-GO) epoxy filled with GO reinforced LENR (EGO-LENR) and epoxy filled with silane treated GO reinforced LENR (E-GOSilaneLENR) were prepared. In this study, these samples were performed mechanical test, morphology and thermal characterization. FTIR analysis proved the presence of functional silane groups in GO. E-0.3% wt GOSilane-LENR sample gave the highest flexural strength and flexural modulus of 89.3 MPa and 3600 MPa. SEM micrograph of the sample's surface has shown that epoxy filled with GO is rougher than neat epoxy.
