Educators play an important role in improving the effectiveness of English Language learning amongst the students, as possessing the ability to converse in English is one of the main criteria of employment in the recent job market. However, educators often complained that they find the traditional method of instruction is no longer effective and applicable to the current education system in achieving the language skills requirement set by the stakeholder. Therefore, this research seeks to identify the effectiveness of differentiated instruction in enhancing students’ English Speaking performance and also the students’ attitude towards differentiated learning. A total of 144 Semester 3 students from a Malaysian polytechnic were chosen as the respondents. This is a quasi-experimental design in which pre-post-test and written reflection were employed to collect data. The results of the t-test indicated that there is a significant improvement in the students’ oral presentation scores after the implementation of the differentiated instruction. In addition, the quantitative analysis of the reflective comments showed that students were generally positive in their attitude toward their language classes during the period of study. Based on the Pearson Correlation analysis, it was found that there is a significant correlation between students’ SPM English grade and the students’ test scores. Therefore, differentiated instruction should be further explored in the ESL context at the tertiary level and teachers have to be innovative and constantly explore various teaching methodology to ensure that they cater to the needs of the students.,Certification of Masters/Doctorial Thesis' is not available,Sarjana Pendidikan (TESL)
