dc.description | Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau tahap kompetensi guru-guru Sejarah dari dimensi pengetahuan, kemahiran dan sikap terhadap penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi. Kajian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti perbezaan tahap kompetensi guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi berdasarkan faktor demografi iaitu umur, kelulusan akademik, opsyen, pengalaman mengajar dan pernah menghadiri kursus. Selain itu, kajian ini juga turut mengenal pasti cabaran yang dihadapi oleh guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi. Kajian menggunakan soal selidik sebagai instrumen utama. Seramai 144 orang guru terlibat sebagai responden dalam kajian ini yang terdiri daripada guru-guru Sejarah yang mengajar di sekolah menengah kebangsaan di Daerah Petaling Perdana, Selangor. Data kajian dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian SPSS 22.0. Analisis deskriptif melibatkan kekerapan, peratusan, min dan sisihan piawai dijalankan bagi menentukan profil demografi kajian dan menentukan tahap kompetensi guru-guru Sejarah serta menentukan cabaran-cabaran yang dihadapi oleh guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi terhadap pelajar. Analisis MANOVA dijalankan bagi mengenal pasti perbezaan kompetensi guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi berdasarkan umur, kelulusan akademik, opsyen, kursus yang dihadiri dan pengalaman mengajar guru. Secara keseluruhannya, tahap pengetahuan guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi adalah sederhana min 58.68 dan sisihan piawai 12.383. Manakala tahap kemahiran guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan aras tinggi adalah tahap yang tinggi min 3.72. Dari aspek sikap guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi secara keseluruhannya adalah tinggi min 3.96. Hasil ujian MANOVA menunjukkan tiada perbezaan yang signifikan tahap kompetensi guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi berdasarkan umur. Namun demikian, terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan tahap kompetensi guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi berdasarkan faktor kelulusan akademik, opsyen, pengalaman mengajar dan pernah menghadiri kursus. Kajian juga mendapati cabaran yang dihadapi oleh guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi adalah pada tahap sederhana. Hasil kajian ini dapat memberi input bermanfaat mengenai tahap kompetensi guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi di Selangor. Hasil kajian ini dapat membantu pihak-pihak yang terlibat dalam perkembangan profesionalisme guru bagi merancang pelbagai strategi untuk meningkatkan tahap kompetensi guru-guru Sejarah dalam penerapan pemikiran aras tinggi.,Master/Sarjana,The study aims to explore the competency levels of History teachers in the aspects of knowledge, skills and attitudes towards inculcating higher-order thinking. In addition, it aims to identify the differences in History teachers’ competency levels based on age, academic qualifications, major, teaching experience and course attendance. Besides that, the study also identifies the challenges faced by History teachers in inculcating higher-order thinking. The primary instrument of the study was a survey questionnaire. 144 History teachers from national secondary schools in the district of Petaling Perdana, Selangor Darul Ehsan, were involved in the study. Data collected were analyzed using SPSS 22.0. Descriptive analysis involving frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviations were conducted to determine the demographic profile and competency levels of History teachers, as well as the challenges they face in inculcating higher-order thinking in students. A MANOVA analysis was conducted to identify the differences in History teachers’ competency in inculcating higher-order thinking based on the teacher’s age, academic qualifications, major, attended courses and teaching experience. Overall, the History teachers’ knowledge level in inculcating higher-order thinking was average, with a mean of 58.68 and standard deviation 12.383, while their skill level was high, with a mean of 3.72. In terms of the attitudes of History teachers in inculcating higher-order thinking was, overall, high with a 3.96 mean. The results of the MANOVA test showed that there was no significant difference in the competency levels of History teachers in inculcating higher-order thinking in terms of age. However, there was a significant difference in their competency levels when comparing academic qualifications, major, teaching experience and course attendance. The study also found that the challenges faced by the History teachers in inculcating higher-order thinking were at an average level. The findings of the study offer preliminary information on the competency levels of the History teachers in Selangor in inculcating higher-order thinking. This is significant in enabling the relevant parties involved in the professional development of teachers to design various strategies towards increasing the competency levels of History teachers in inculcating higher-order thinking among their students. | |
