Description: Al-Shaykh al-Albani, may Allah have mercy on him, was a reviver of the modern era for the studies of al-Hadith. Yet his reversions of his rulings of al-Hadith statuses give opportunities to his rivals to discredit his knowledge and expertise in the field. They have produced many literatures and studies to highlight and claim that his revisions are contradictory as they showed his lack of knowledge and competency. It is vital to shed light on his recent revisions to make it clear that his revision indicates his merits rather than shortcomings. The objectives of the research are; to clarify examples of the revisions that were made by the companions of the Prophet and the scholars of al-Hadith. In addition, it specifies the reasons that made al-Albani altered his earlier rulings of al-Hadith from the statuses of Tashih to Tadif. This study investigates the basic rules applied by al-Albani in his revision processes. The methodology of this study are descriptive and inductive investigating relevant literatures and studies. This study employs deductive method in studying the requirements and reasons for reversion by al-Albani as well as his methods. Comparatively this study links al-Albani's methods with the rules of the scholars of al-Hadith. The research concludes that al-Albani followed a unique school of thought in the science of al-Hadith as most of his rules theoretically are agreed upon and he followed the majority of the scholars of al-Hadith. Practically, he used his ijtihad comprehensively referring to some of exceptions to the original rules. Al-Albani may contradict some of the rules based on certain conditions and reasons. He investigates every single hadith thoroughly. For al-Albani, each al-Hadith has its own context or background that may not be replicated by other al-Hadith.Regarding the impact of the research at the general level, the Islamic bodies and institutions should monitor the publications of al-Hadith works and recommend to the publishers to revise the status of al-Hadith that are considered as daif. On the other hand, at the individual level; like scholars, students and researchers, the revision of the statuses of hadith in general indicates the needs for reviewing some of the judgments and related issues as well as ijtihad, especially when the al-Hadith they relied upon as the source for jurisprudence, in actual fact are daif.,“Certification of Master's/Doctoral Thesis” is not available,Master of Islamic Studies
