Description: Scholars of Koranic interpretation are very keen in dealing with the sciences of Koranic interpretation. Nevertheless, deviation appeared in Koranic interpretation from the extremists in their interpretation, explanation and scientific effort in such an obvious way to support their ideas, to strengthen their thoughts and to gain impression and followers. Likewise, such was practised by an individual in the city of Bogor, Indonesia, namely Ahmad Musadeq who claimed prophethood and founded a group called al-Qiyadah al-Islamiyah. Furthermore, he interpreted the Koran according to his beliefs, which is out of the methods of Usul al-Tafsir that had been outlined by previous scholars. The objective of this study is to introduce Ahmad Musadeq and his group of al-Qiyadah al-Islamiyah, and to reveal their main thoughts and beliefs. The study also seeks to describe his method of Koranic interpretation and some practical examples of his deviation in Koranic interpretation besides analyzing statements and opinions of scholars of Koranic interpretation as a source of refutation to the mentioned deviation. This study was conducted fulfilling methods of analysis and inductive in which throughout the analysis, the researcher used books of Koranic interpretation and articles of journals as well as books and other writings done by Ahmad Musadeq. The researcher had discovered a number of findings, amongst which was Ahmad Musadeq's claim of prophethood was influenced by his Christian friend, Robert Paul Walean. The group of al-Qiyadah al-Islamiyah was found related with Negara Islam Indonesia (NII) historically. Ahmad Musadeq and his group established their Koranic interpretation based on six programs, namely Qiyam al-layl, Tahfiz al-Qur'an, al-Talwiyah, Kamal al-Saff, al-Taclim and al-Sadaqah; by distorting the Koranic interpretation and effecting the beliefs of the Muslim community. The case study was made and found that Ahmad Musadeq had interpreted several verses regarding beliefs, worship, parables and verses of muhkam and mutashabih. The importance of this study appears in explaining deviation made by Ahmad Musadeq and his group in Koranic interpretation and protecting the community from such deviation. Therefore, it is advised that the next study should be on explanation of deviated Koranic interpretation done by other individual in another country and its effect to the Muslim community.,Certification of Master's/Doctoral Thesis" is not available
