Description:	This study addresses the question of jumlah mu`taridah (parenthesis) and its syntactic signification in terms of the structure of jumlah ismiyyah (nominal sentence) and jumlah fi`liyyah (verbal sentences) based on surah Ali Imran and al-Nisa' as the sample. As recent studies are focused on jumlah mu`taridah and its dilalah balaghiyyah (rhetoric signification), this study intends to explain the endeavours of modern syntaxists in crystalizing the signification structure of jumlah mu`taridah. Also, it aims to look into the relationship among jumlah mu`taridah variants based on jumlah ismiyyah and jumlah fi`liyyah in surah Ali Imran and al-Nisa' apart from the function of jumlah mu`taridah as opposed to the normal syntactic rules in both surah. This study adopts deductive approach by referring to encyclopaedic works over the concept of jumlah mu`taridah and also analytical descriptive approach, i.e. by explaining the concept and contexts of jumlah mu`taridah. Likewise, this study intends to analyse the types of relationship that tie jumlah mu`taridah with jumlah ismiyyah and jumlah fi`liyyah in surah Ali Imran and al-Nisa'. Next, the opinions of the syntaxists are analysed and the most authoritative of the opinions is explained. Also this study adopts comparative approach on the opinions of the past and modern syntaxists to pin down similarities and differences on the issue of the significations of jumlah mu`taridah. It is concluded in this study that the occurrences of jumlah mu`taridah are seen in contexts: most of jumlah mu`taridah to be after fi`l madi (past form of verb) is found in surah Ali Imran while most of jumlah mu`taridah to be after fi`l mudari (present form of verb) and fi`l amr (imperative form of verb) is found in surah al-Nisa'. In terms of the verb types, jumlah mu`taridah contradictory to the normal syntactic rules occurs in surah al-Nisa' where the significations of jumlah mutaridah become varied when the parenthesis is juxtaposed to the verbs. The significance of this study is that Arabic and al-Qur'an which is preserved in the language are inseparable. Therefore, Arabic treasure needs this kind of study in order to help researchers understand the significations of jumlah mutaridah syntactically to understand the language inimitability of the Nobel Qur'an.,“Certification of Master's/Doctoral Thesis” is not available,Master of Islamic Studies
