There is currently a global push toward the production of sustainable buildings. The advancement of sustainability is critical in the building sector in order to maximise resource efficiency, minimise environmental impact, reduce energy consumption, improve indoor environmental quality, and meet human needs and improve quality of life. However, the majority of the Palestinians have yet to move into sustainable buildings, as most of the people are still in the infant stage of awareness. The purpose of this research is to establish a knowledge base for promoting sustainable building practises among Palestinians. To accomplish this goal, four objectives have been identified, including an investigation of the level of awareness of sustainability concept principles, an evaluation of the benefits of sustainable buildings, identifying the barriers to implementing sustainable buildings, and investigation of the role of project managers in overcoming the barriers. The study took a quantitative approach, incorporating a questionnaire (50 respondents) and a case study. Quantitative analysis of the questionnaire was conducted using IBM's Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 20. The case study utilised a well-known sustainable building firm (Shtayya) to explore how project managers contribute to the promotion of sustainable building practises throughout the four stages of construction. The findings indicated that respondents had a firm grasp and awareness of sustainable principles on “Reduce energy use” and “Protecting future generations' interests while meeting today's needs”. Correspondently, the study reveals that respondents prioritise energy conservation as “Reduce energy consumption by promoting energy-efficient building practices” and “Increase occupant comfort and well-being” ranked as the most beneficial for the practice. The fact that “Investment costs for sustainable buildings are higher than for conventional buildings” and “Unwillingness of industry practitioners to alter their standard construction methods and materials” were identified as the primary impediments to implementing sustainability concepts in West Bank. In light of the findings of the case study, indicated that the most critical component of project delivery is human resources, even more so when experienced project managers are involved in troubleshooting. The primary responsibility of project managers in promoting sustainable building practises in Palestine has been determined to be knowledge dissemination to stakeholders through the application of lessons learned and best practises applicable to the project.,Master of Science
