dc.description | Privacy like security and peace is one of the rolling factors that affect housing forms. Since centuries ago, Iranian architecture has emphasized on the relation between building and user. Culture and religious beliefs have concerned the Iranian user to have a suitable dwelling. This affect of culture on architecture, has caused the division of the house in order to create privacy. These divisions by getting help from combination of open and closed spaces, has been formed professionally. But during the last century, according to the increasing of urbanism in Iranian cities, especially in the city of Tehran, and shrinkage of land area and growth of prices, has effected on the communications, formal and technical changes of architecture around the world. Iranian dwellings from traditional low rise courtyard houses, has transformed to different typologies of construction and layout. According to some scholar’s statistics, the compact apartments with around 100 square meters, in the five to eight storey apartments or high-rise buildings, are the relevant type of apartments of Iran. The major problematic transformation in the apartments of Iran is because of combination of different functions in a limited area of today’s apartment. This situation causes to loss of spatial separations and privacy in this apartments. The main problem is that Iranian dwellers still need their cultural privacy especially with the presence of guests and strangers. One of The objectives of this thesis is analyzing the level of privacy in current Iranian dwelling apartments. Finding a clear degree of satisfaction and resident’s preferences of their dwelling condition and the privacy level of in their houses can be the next objective. Also finding a clear response from today’s Iranian dwellers to study that if flexibility can be a suitable solution for spatial separation or combination of today’s Iranian compact apartments or no. The method of this research is case study method to follow a qualitative research. Application of questionnaire among the residents of Tehran pars neighborhood in the city of Tehran is the methodology of this research, which shows the privacy level of the dwellings of this area.,Master/Sarjana | - |
