Description: | Increased competition and market globalization has led many companies to adopt performance measurement systems with the ability to measure multiple perspectives of their businesses. The usage of multiple performance measures in organizations is to overcome the limitations of traditional performance measurement systems, in providing comprehensive information on organizational efficiency and effectiveness. In line with its intended use that is, to support the business strategy, the system requires appropriate skilled staff to ensure successful implementation. Although considerable research investigated the alignment of performance measurement systems with strategy, little is known about the match between staffs' professionalism and multiple performance measures. Thus, this study is undertaken to fill in the gap in the knowledge. It aims to explore the relationships between strategy and professionalism dimensions with multiple performance measurement usage in the Malaysian Manufacturing companies. Questionnaires are distributed to chief financial controllers of the companies listed in the directory of Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM). Using regression and moderator regression analyses, the findings show that companies following differentiation strategy make greater use of multiple performance measures than those following cost leadership strategies. In addition, firms emphasizing staffs' professionalism namely, social obligation and professional community affiliation dimensions were found to have high usage of multiple performance measures. These findings provide insights to Malaysian manufacturing companies on the business strategy that supports high usage of multiple performance measures and the professionalism dimensions to be emphasized in ensuring successful implementation of the system.,Peningkatan persaingan dan globalisasi pasaran telah menyebabkan banyak syarikat masakini mengamalkan sistem penilaian prestasi yang berkeupayaan mengukur pelbagai perspektif perniagaan mereka.
