As is well-known, the chair is an endowment made by the Pok Rafeah Foundation. In this regard, I would like to express our sincere thanks to the Pok Rafeah Foundation, namely its patron Tun Daim Zainudin, for the Foundations generous endowment that makes the setting up of the chair possible. The chair was set up at IKMAS in 1996, and today, it has been sustained for almost 20 years and has seen the appointment of five leading scholars to lead cutting edge research in the field of globalization, development and social transformation. The fair-sightedness of the University in setting up the Chair and the generosity shown by the Pok Rafeah Foundation is bearing fruit. It has show-cased not only longevity and brought together intellectual thought-leaders but very importantly it has raised the profile and reputation of IKMAS as a research institute with international standing, and also of UKM as a leading research university., Koleksi Ucapan Mazlin Mokhtar
