| Description: | There are two important events that have already and will take place today. This morning, the Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES) International Deans' Course has started. It is amazing to see that about 30 deans and vice deans and directors from various parts of South East Asia will spend 3 days in a workshop organised by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Rectors' Conference (HRK), the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the Centre for Higher Education (CHE), University of Applied Sciences Osnabr�ck and UKM to discuss the challenges in higher education and research management due to the fast changing global landscape. I believe such leadership training programme will serve as a capacity building venue for participants to gain more knowledge to equip themselves with various skills required to effectively run the higher academic institutions in this challenging time. I am glad to know that there are many of UKM�s senior officials such as Prof Marzuki, Prof Fauzi (CRIM), Prof Rashila are alumni of this course. |
